Description

This doll was made as part of the ADO Team Challenge.

The challenge was to create a doll based on a character from Shakespeare. I chose Lavinia of 'Titus Andronicus'

____________

Tamora: "Why hast thou slain thine only daughter thus?" Titus: "Not I; 'twas Chiron and Demetrius: They ravish'd her, and cut away her tongue: And they, 'twas they, that did her all this wrong."
____________

Lavinia is a one of a kind (OOAK) art doll sculpture. Absolutely NO MOLDS were used in her creation. She will never be recreated making her the only one of her kind in the entire world.

She has spooky black handmade inset eyes. Her upper arms and legs have been soft sculpted for complete posability. Her hands are made of natural wood twigs. Details have been painted and sealed using the finest professional grade artist paints. Her costume is handmade using white silk, white satin, white cheesecloth and antique lace trim. Costuming is aged and dirtied appropriately for the character, of course. :-)
She has a soft sculpted bustled underneath her dress.

She is freestanding, though a doll stand is recommended for stability. Lavinia stands approximately 13" tall, 6 1/2" sitting.

Ah, a truly tragic character indeed. Lovely doll!
